Introductory meeting with the General Organization for Seed Multiplication (GOSM) on cooperation in the smart greenhouse project.
Within the framework of Tartous University’s endeavors to achieve leadership in scientific integration between the university and various research and scientific institutions to serve the development process, an introductory meeting was held at the Manufacturing and Scientific Consultancy Center at the Faculty of Science, Tartous University, between the center’s management and a delegation from the General Organization for Seed Multiplication (GOSM) in Aleppo, which included:
- Dr. Douria Jammou, Director of the Tissue Culture Directorate.
- Eng. Maan Al-Nasser, Projects Department Manager.
- Dr. Aytham Ibrahim, Director of Tartous Branch.
During the meeting, Dr. Saoud Kedah, Director of the Center, briefed the delegation on the details of the smart greenhouse project utilizing hydroponic systems. He highlighted that the center is implementing this project using automated control techniques according to the highest technical standards, alongside the projected timeline for its completion. The two parties also discussed mechanisms for joint cooperation and expertise exchange in the field of smart greenhouse technologies, exploring the possibility of implementing a prototype in Aleppo with mutual support. Furthermore, they touched upon the potential signing of a joint work and cooperation agreement to boost agricultural and sustainable development processes, which will be further addressed during an upcoming expanded meeting at the GOSM headquarters in Aleppo.
