A virtual meeting with the Dutch Wageningen University, ranked first globally in agricultural sciences.
A virtual meeting was held via the “Meet” platform between the Manufacturing and Scientific Consultancy Center at the Faculty of Science and Wageningen University & Research in the Netherlands, a leading scientific hub in life and agricultural sciences that has held the top global ranking for many years in agriculture, food, and environmental sciences. The university was represented in the meeting by Dr. Yutong Qiu, Director of Business Development and a strategic expert in building bridges for scientific cooperation between countries.
The two sides began by introducing their respective centers before moving on to discuss ways of cooperation between the Dutch university and the Manufacturing and Scientific Consultancy Center at Tartous University in research and technical fields. This aims to enhance the development of the smart greenhouse project currently being undertaken by the center, along with any related technologies and potential avenues of collaboration. Accordingly, the center will provide the university with an initial study file outlining the technical points where cooperation is desired for implementation and development. Meanwhile, Wageningen University will prepare its own file showcasing possible support and collaboration frameworks with the center, including organizing specialized courses in agricultural technology for center members at the university in the Netherlands, as well as studying the nature of the technical cooperation.
The meeting concluded with proposed recommendations, alongside preparations for an expanded meeting that will include technical experts from Wageningen University & Research. The simultaneous interpretation between the two parties was supervised by Ms. Babel Al-Issa from Damascus, a simultaneous interpretation expert in UN conferences and workshops.
